Rene Lacoste saved two match points in the fifth set of the final against William Tilden before winning.
Gottfried von Cramm saved a match point in the fourth set of the final against Jack Crawford but fought back to win.
Rod Laver saved a match point in the fourth set of his quarter final against Martin Mulligan. He went on to win the match and the title and eventually his first Grand Slam.
Adriano Panatta was match point down in the fifth set of his first round match against Pavel Hutka. He went on to win the match and six matches later the title.
Gustavo Kuerten was match point down in the third set against Michael Russell in the fourth round. He went on to win the match and eventually won the tournament.
Gaston Gaudio was twice match point down in the final against Guillermo Coria but came back to win. Coria is one of only two men (the other was Brian Norton) to have had match points in a Grand Slam final and to have never won a Grand Slam title.
